The Cortney Gives BAK Foundation was founded in 2021 by Cortney and Seth Barnett, with the help and support of Alisa and Jeff Ambrose & Lois and Paul Katzman. With love, hope, generosity (and the initials of their last names), The Cortney Gives BAK Foundation was formed. 

The Cortney Gives BAK Foundation is dedicated to funding congenital heart defect (CHD) research from all over the country. CHD research is extremely underfunded, and if you know Cortney, you know she is determined to change that. Cortney was born with several complex congenital heart defects. She is a single ventricle heart warrior who lives with half-a-heart. Raising CHD awareness and funding CHD research is not only crucial for Cortney and her family, it is crucial for the 2-3 million children and adults living with CHDs. Congenital heart defects are the most common birth defects in America, but unfortunately there is no cure. With your love and support, we can change those statistics!
